The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has launched the Al Mazroua and Al Furoush electricity stations to expand power transmission grids in accordance with the highest safety and security standards, at a cost of QR230mn.

The total cost of the Al Mazroua station project, which is fed by the Al Sakhama Grand Station, is QR134mn, and will feed the National Service Academy station.

As for the Al Furoush station, which has a voltage of 11/132 KV, the total cost of its construction is QR96 mn, and it is fed by the northern Izghawa station, which supplies power to government residential divisions in the region.

The stations are equipped with 250MVA cables, and include control panels with a voltage of 132kV and 11kV, and transformers with a voltage of 40MVA.

Despite the Covid-19 obstacles, Kahramaa completed construction of the two stations with more than 838,164 working hours without injuries.

Kahramaa works to provide the highest standards of reliability in its network in accordance with the highest international standards, by using an advanced protection system linked to the optical fibre network for control switches with a voltage of 11/132 kV. This increases protection on the network feeders.

Kahramaa is keen to follow security and safety standards in all its activities and operations according to its strategic plans without recording injuries or accidents in project workers, which has a positive impact on increasing productivity.

Kahramaa commissioned 32 stations in 2020, with the aim of meeting the increasing needs and the growing demand for power, in addition to enhancing the security and continuity of services provided through electrical transmission and distribution networks, in line with the stations' operational frameworks, and the stations serve the vital and future projects of the state.
