Qatar's land border at Abu Samra was open on Tuesday, a Gulf Times team which visited the location from 11.30am to 4.30pm, found.
After the announcement of lifting the blockade was made on Monday night, the authorities opened the border after three years and seven months.
Tight security is in place at Abu Samra, according to Gulf Times Staff Reporter Shafeeq Alingal. It is understood that preparations are underway for the resumption of cross-border traffic, in line with the preventive and preparatory measures against Covid-19. PICTURES: Thajudheen and Jayan Orma.
