Masoud al-Marri, director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), has held a meeting with Swedish ambassador Anders Bengtsson.
The meeting came as part of its endeavour to discuss ways of enhancing co-operation with leading countries in the field of food security, the MME said in a statement.
Held using remote communication technology, the meeting was attended by Sarah al-Malki, assistant director of the MME’s Food Security Department, and Swedish officials.
The national food security strategy of Qatar and the plans therein were reviewed during the meeting. Discussions were also held on various other key topics, including the precautionary measures taken by Qatar to combat Covid-19.
The meeting highlighted that opportunities are available for Swedish companies to be involved in food security projects in Qatar. It also stressed the importance of further co-operation between the two countries in the field of food
