Qatar’s real estate sector saw some 53 property deals exceeding QR328mn in the period between March 15 and 19, Ezdan said in a report on Thursday.
Qatari real estate price index got a boost because of some “exceptional deals”, worth more 50mn each, in Doha and Al Rayyan Municipalities.
This is “despite the heavy challenges that have stricken the markets and rendered a sluggish spell”, Ezdan Real Estate said, citing data provided by Qatar’s Real Estate Registration Department.
The total deal value (of QR328.6mn) covered seven municipalities: Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Dhakhira, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Shehaniya, Al Daayen and Al Wakrah and involved vacant land lots, multi-use buildings, and residential buildings.
According to Ezdan, Doha Municipality accounted for the highest deal in terms of value pertaining to the sale of a residential complex in Old Airport area spanning over 7,274 square metres, at QR766 per square foot, with an aggregate value of QR60mn.
Al Rayyan Municipality was next in terms of value through the sale of a commercial building in Aziziyah area extending over 2,459 square meters at a price of QR2,040 per square feet, totalling QR54mn.
Al Rayyan Municipality also witnessed the registration of the third largest real estate deal (in terms of value) through the sale of a house in Al Merikh, which spans an area of 11,871 square metres at a price of QR391 per square foot, with a total of value of QR50mn, Ezdan said.
